Hi, I have made a mpeg 4 video and its just what I need because the quality is great and the file size is nice and small! I can play the video without problems on my computer...and I can preview the video for web and it works too, BUT...when I upload the video to my website it wont play and tells me that I have a broken link. MPEG4 seems like its great for what Im trying to do but I cant figure out how to get it play. If have a regular quicktime movie itll play fine on the web but the quality is horrible...I dont know if there is something Im missing. If anyone can help or direct me to some info Id appreciate it....this is driving me nuts
thanks

You may have to check with your webspace hosts - some of them block clients from downloading mp3s, avis and other supposed 'warez' from webspace. I had the same problem hosting mp3s on my btinternet webspace.

I may be completely off-base with your question though because you're not quite specific enough. What do you mean, a broken link? Can you see and download the file with ftp?

...well when I export the movie, the icon that is displayed is the typical QT logo icon...and it loads in QT and plays fine. But when I upload that file onto my server the QT logo changes into what looks like a blank piece of white paper(the type of icon that is displayed when a file is unrecognizable). So if I go to the page and try to view the movie a 'broken' QT logo pops up and says it cant play...one other time I got an error said that a plug-in wasnt available...which i thought was weird since I can play the movie on my computer. It seems like the problem is starting only once i get it onto my server so Im going to check my server to see if it supports mp4 like you suggested...if you think of anything else Id appreciate it.
Im running MAC OSX
from a G4
editing the movie in Final Cut
Exporting from After Effects
And then using Dreamweaver MX to load the movie into
if thats any help smile.gif
thanks again!
