So, a small lightweight player which has the pro-tech of fb2k, but without the extreme customizability and extensibility which makes fb2k more difficult to use....... the obvious question of course is if xmplay goes that route, will it be able to keep its small filesize?!?
Good news all. XMPlay has a lot to offer, though it's main standout features for me goes just to it's very small filesize and simplicity of use. Otherwise I cannot see any reason not to use foobar2000, which is my daily choice on Windows-platform.
I have a vorbisstream going (created by use of fb2k > oddcast2 > Icecast2), and when Windows-users who wants to listen to it complains it won't work in WMP, I point them to XMPlay, just because it's such a very small download and so easy to use and handles vorbisstreams excellently (though I seldom fail to mention fb2k if I think the person is someone who would appreciate it's more advanced features and customizability). So I think small & easy are the main features XMPlays developers should continue to keep as primary focus.
