I need a way to convert a set of MS-Word *.doc files to images; preferably (if possible) such that each page is saved as a separate image, rather than a linked chain. Does anyone know of a free (or at least relatively inexpensive/hassle free) method of accomplishing this? I've seen several commercial "virtual printers" offered, but have no idea whether they can do the separate images for each page that I prefer/require, or whether that would even be the most appropriate route for my needs.

I've also checked Sourceforge for something like this, but if anything there would do it I've managed to come up empty. Any help in locating an appropriate solution would be deeply appreciated!

Edit: Also, the documents I need to convert are fairly large... each is in the range of 100-200 pages, if this makes any difference in terms of possible suggestions.

There is a free PDF printer available from SourceForge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
I never tried it though.

Personally I've used the following trick: Install an "Apple Color LW 12/660 PS" (I don't think it matters much which printer it is, as long as it outputs the right kind of PostScript, and this one seems to work) and set it up to write to a file (to the "port" file:). If you now print a document using this printer you will be asked to specify a location to store the file, this file will be filled with the entire printed document in PostScript form. If you need it as something else other tools (like GhostScript or CorelDraw) can be used to convert it.

I have no experience with splitting pages to different files, so I can't comment on that.
