Before the turn of the year, I bought a Audigy 2 ZS and the Inspire T7700 speaker system. Being on a limited budget and not able to play too loud (neighbors), i found this suit my needs and then some. Having a blast playing games and watching movies in surround sound. I then soon found myself wanting to play my Cube, my Xbox, and watch DVD's on my TV with the sound out of these speakers. However, just plugging these into my card's line in jack lost something crucial, surround sound. I then saw the DDTS-100 and saw it's true purpose, to effortlessly get surround sound out of my extra devices without breaking the bank.
However, i haven't been able to find resources that display if it will fullfill all my needs for decoding, particuarly Dolby from my TV. I don't know if it matters, but my TV has Analog out's on the back, which means that some things (Cube) might go through the TV first before going to the docoder (this could change if need be). My Question, simply put, will the DDTS-100 be able to do all this...
1. DVD surround sound via digital coaxial (Dolby, DTS and extenstions thereof)
2. Xbox surround sound via digial optical
3. Cube surround sound via analog stereo (Dolby ProLogicII, Dolby)
and finally (i'm pretty sure all the above will work, but this next one i'm not sure...)
4. Dolby from TV Broadcasts via analog stereo (I.E. "Presented in Dolby Surround (where available)" broadcasts. This would go to the decoder via the analog outs on the back of the set. Will this work?
These are all the things i will most likely connect to this decoder for now (and probably awhile). Will this setup achieve my goal of surround sound for all?
On a side note, has anyone had any experience with this decoder and have anything to say about it?
Thanks
