Full Version: Yet more new code in CVS
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Lossy Audio Compression > Ogg Vorbis > Ogg Vorbis - General
Jon Ingram
Monty's just committed some changes to the Vorbis library, in response to quick testing by the folks on this board, and on the #project_mayhem IRC channel.

<warthogg> OK.  Latest vorbis changes committed to CVS\"
<warthogg> the change slightly increases bitrate (but bitrate had fallen pretty much across the board anyway) and kills most of the high end flanging that appeared.  It also reinforces -q0 and -q -1 a bit more

Don't be 100% certain that this is the absolute final 1.0, until the announcement comes out and the binaries are in your hands smile.gif. Luckily you haven't had enough time to rerip *that* many CDs...

Are these changes in the version available at rarewares?

The last code changes in the CVS were late Saturday (UK time) and they are in the versions currently at RareWares. The only changes since then have been to documentation. (This is as of about 1 hour ago!)

I have once before also mentioned this site .

For obtaining Oggenc binaries .

The site as it says autobuilds the binaries so u get the binaries as soon as some change is comitted to CVS .

And BTW the site only provides Oggenc .
Infact i hate to download big files from RJ that contain the vorbis dll and Replaygain
as well .

RJ wud say that the binaries provide a slow speed , but who cares when u have to test the latest code .

I'm not providing binaries for testing only, you know?

Wrong.

It says CVS sweeps are made daily at 5:30 AM Japan Standard Time. So, if a new CVS is commited minutes after this, these modifications will only be compiled next day. The same goes if 2 commits are made in the same day (Already happened lots of times).

Roberto.
