I'm trying to get my creative frontpantl for my audigy2 platinum to give some sound.

The front panlet optiosn in ctpanel.exe are greyed out.
and in audioHQ the entire panel of the live drive are gone.

i check the kable are sitting correct on the live drive.
i tried the newst and the next newest drivers from creative

i DONT have the original CD's

Have you tried the built-in Windows sound controls?

Off-Topic:
The Creative software for the Audigy2 is buggy when installing all options, it did nothing but crash all the time on my XP Pro system, and doesn't uninstall/install/re-install correctly. The only solution I had was to only install the drivers which of course only allows the usage of two front speakers and the sub-woofer.

I don't know if this will help or not, anyway in WinXP:
(1) Control Panel -> Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices -> Sound and Audio Devices
(2) Device Volume -> Advanced tab, see what's inside.
(3) Speaker Settings -> Advanced tab -> Speaker Setup, make a selection.

I don't know if that is a problem or not, however I've been noticing a trend lately where updates will not install without the original CD's -- take MS Office as a prime example.
