hi!

play-fm puts pcs in dancing-clubs. the live-recordings of the dj-sets are done by a software called 'messer'. we record in mp3 (because we couldn t find a software to be able to edit up to 9hours of wav)

the problem that we have is that the volume of the recordings is varying a lot during a recording (very low to very loud). we have a limiter/compressor but there s no person watching the incoming recording signal.

what would be the best to make the low parts louder and the loud parts lower?

any help welcome!

i think that in realtime only manual adjustments will fix the different volume of each track, unless all the DJs make their tracks the same loudness before playing them and then you just record at a fixed level. if you process the DJ set after it's recorded then you can do the changes you want with a wave editor or something.
