Though I am not limited to those, if the HD497s are as good, or better that would be awesome, as I also am looking for a soundcard.
I listen to Metal, and intend to use these phones with my Rio Karma, porability isn't really a concern.
I am looking for quality and comfort, also I am still open for other ones, these were the ones reccomended to me elsewhere.
Thanks.

There's already many topics on this. www.headphone.com is a good place to find headphone reviews.
I like the Sennheiser HD-280 Pros.
http://www.headphone.com/layout.php?topicI...ctID=0020080280As for soundcards, Chaintech AV-710 is a great deal.
You might want to consider Alessandro MS-1's for $99 shipped (http://www.alessandro-products.com/) which are modified Grado SR125 headphones with a more neutral sound signature. Senn's aren't generally considered as the best cans for metal, at least the more laidback models (HD580/600), but nevertheless I'm enjoying my HD555 (~$120) for a variety of music including metal (although it's on the edge of being too polite, I'd dare not to try 580/600 for my music tastes). These are very comfortable phones. BTW, I can also recommend the Chaintech, although you might want an amp with it because the output is pure line-out with no good headphone driving capabilities (yes, volume may be earsplitting with efficient cans, but bass may be missing and sound may be easily distorted).

Thanks for the replies, and sorry, I looked a little and saw similar topics, but with only a mention of what I was looking for. (Like a reccomendation, etc.) Though I must admit, my search wasn't to extensive, finally having the money for some quality headphones made me a little impatient, you know? Well thanks again.

If you haven't made a purchase try
these for $120. I use to have the 497's and afterwards I sold them, after I received the A500's. They are very well worth the price and imo the difference is major. Things you'll notice: comfort, better bass, better highs.
