hi everyone i got a question? awhile back i ripped my cds to wav. using musicmatch.now about 2 years later i want to rip the cd-r's with the wav files to Ape. even though i used musicmatch is all wav. files the same quality? like ripping with musicmatch or nero or EAC. just wondering cause if there is a diffrence then i will go buy the original's again since i no longer have them. thanks alot.

Umm. If you have .wav files. you have in essence the original files. All you have to do is convert the wav files to Monkey's Audio Lossless. You then will save about 40% on the space they are taking up now. Unless you mean alt-preset-standard lame mp3 files-then you will see them use up 15-20% of the space they are using now. Two popular programs recommended on this board for this purpose is either dbpoweramp or Foobar2000.
When you ripped your CDs using MusicMatch and burned them onto CDs-R, you introduced two possible snags. One, is, there may have been errors reading the original CDs when you ripped them, and these errors would propagate indefinitely. There may also have been errors during the burning process or during the two years those CDs-R were sitting around (CD rot, scratches, inexplicable C2 errors).
There may also have been no errors, in which case the CDs you want to rip to MP3 or Monkey's Audio are as good as the originals. The danger is in not knowing, but it's a danger you need to weigh for yourself before you decide what to do. Ripping what you have and buying the original CDs again are both good options.
