Ah, finally. That was a horrible week, going to the Xiph site every day, full of hope and good expectations, and then being disappointed wink.gif biggrin.gif

I supppose John33 will re-compile all the binaries just for safety, at least that's what JohnV suggested.

Sadly, if you follow the download link it still lists rc3. Shouldn't be long now though!
john33
john33 has already recompiled and uploaded a full set of binaries to Roberto.

If you go to the mirror, the compile dates have been updated. Roberto's own ogg page is not yet updated in this respect, although the links will give you the latest compiles.

Enjoy!biggrin.gif

I really hope someone's taken the time to write this up as a press release, and send it to the appropriate places.

Now version 1 is out and final, the PR should begin!

Does that mean I get to to do some serious smiting in the name the Xiph on all those Mp3-"lusers"? Yay!

"Nobody expects the Oggish inquisition.."

hmmmm ...

I can't help but notice there's an element of
"playstation" vs. "gamecube"
and
"Windows" vs. "Macintosh"
about the MP3 vs. Vorbis debate.

... and it looks like a lot of fun.

So - I need to get my bearings - who's the King of Ogg, where do I get my weapons? And where's the next battlefield?
verloren
Please be gentle with the mirror - this month it has already served up about 3Gb, and I can only allow 5Gb per month!

Cheers, Paul

Try Benjamin's website (well, for the last week or so it has been "my" site smile.gif) if you want John's up-to-date binaries - there isn't much German on the download page anyway.

I'm currently downloading the file format documenation with 60 bps.

Found no mirror for it.
