On Aug 8th a new version of DirectCut was released.

What's new in 1.36:

* Distribution contains the language files
* Optional double/triple pitched play
* Some minor corrections

thanks for the news - i often use mp3directCut for postprocessing streamed radioshows, or for shortening tracks which i want to use in a mix.

edit: now, if it only could also handle ogg vorbis, that would be nice - especially for saved radiostreams.

For Ogg Vorbis there's vcut (included in the standard vorbis-tools package) and musicutter.

I was browsing the FAQ to see what/if anything had been changed and noticed this.

I would, but Vorbis seems to be much more difficult to cut than MP3. An MP3 can be cut everywhere and it's still playable. Cutting an Ogg file without adapting anything here and there will produce broken files. I could not find any understandable documentation of a structure in Vorbis files. If you know such docs, please let me know.

So, it appears support is not an impossibility. I'd consult with the developer.
