Hey all...my first post here. I've had an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 for about 2 months now. I have it hooked up to my JVC MX-G70 shelf system via gold-plated rca - 1/8 in plugs. Okay to get to the point, I've been using the ASIO plugin for Winamp (the one off the asian site)....and recently, between tracks, there's a loud popping sound during the transistion. Whether or not I have "gapless mode" checked or not, and whether or not I turn on the upsampling option, I get this popping sound...I believe I've been using plugin versions .43 - .47 and the first month or so, none this interference was there. If I use, say the DirectSound SSRC output plugin, no popping noises ... but that kind of defies the whole point of my buying this card.

I've been searching the web for anyone with the same problem, but about the only cause I could come up with, was the Revo's proximity to other cards in my computer...But, the Revo is on the bottom PCI slot, with an empty slot between it, and my ATI TV Wonder (which isn't being used at the moment). Other than that ... not sure if the the buffering or cpu priorities could be an issue either..

Does anyone have any idea why I'm getting the popping sounds when using ASIO for playback? This is really really bugging me so any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

UPDATE: Okay, I answered my own question just now. Installed the new .48 version of ASIO plugin .... and then popping continued during transition. BUT, I've been using the TruSurround XT (Music) function from the M-Audio Control panel. ... that's been causing it. So lesson to learn:

DON'T USE Otachan's ASIO plugin with Surround Effects on.

I have bi-amped subs so everytime the popping sound hits ...whoo boy hurts the ears.

I find that the Transit pops with ASIO, but a digital rightmark test showed (I think) that output is bit-perfect even without ASIO. Even if kmixer makes a difference on the Revo you might not find that it is significant using the analog output.

I've never been able to get the ASIO Winamp plugin to work for me, and I can't figure out why. I use another gapless plugin but if anyone has any suggestions I'd be open to hear them.

the .dll version works for me, not .exe version. Even I cannot use the volume control on winamp with asio now...
