You would think someone would have thought of a mp3 BoomBox with a hard drive, but as far as I know no such device exists (except one lame offering from Sony, at astronomical prices, that I saw 1-2 years back and can't find anymore.

A mp3 HD BoomBox seems like the natural evolution of the BoomBox, but unfortunately, these days, it seems that evolution is put on hold and even regressing.

I would like to know if anyone know if such a device exists or is in
the works. I would also like to know if there are any D.I.Y. plans for making a mp3 HD BoomBox.

Take an mp3 player, two cans of Heinz baked beans, and some wire. Eat the baked beans. Wire up. No, maybe there needs to be amplification somewhere.

I prefer just hooking up my H120 up to a stereo myself. I never much cared for boomboxes myself. But give them time, someone will come up with them.

I was actually thinking about building a MAME cabinet with a touch screen mp3 HD jukebox running BPM JukeBox X as I do not know of any other music OS.

I have a 20GB "Boombox" - upgradeable to 100 GB (soon when Toshiba comes out with new 100 GB Laptop HD)
