I am using MP3 Gain (Version 0.7.6, Back end Version 1.0.7) to normalize my collection of 1600 mp3s. I am using Radio Analysis, and accepting the target volume of 89dB. When I analyze the songs, the vast majority of them come back red. Does this mean that if I apply the gain that the song(s) will all be clipped? It seems that the Max Noclip Gain feature is what I want to use to avoid clipping the files. My understanding of the Max Noclip Gain feature is that it finds the maximum single gain that will not clip any of the files in the list.

So, here's the rather simplistic question: Just how do I apply Max Noclip Gain to all of the files in my list? I am afraid to use the Radio Gain button for fear that I will clip all of the files. Any assistance will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the help. smile.gif

Not necessarily. Red does indicate some sort of clipping, but it means one or more of the following:
[list] any clipping the mp3 might currently be doing.

First, let me say thank you for responding to my original question so quickly.

And just when you thought it was over, I have one more question for you...

What is the significance of the Max Noclip Gain column in MP3 Gain?

Thanks for the help,

Shannon

That's the maximum gain that can be applied to that mp3 without it clipping.
