Surely my favourite track off Meddle. The album itself is quite listenable really, it's not the kind of hard-to-digest stuff I would have expected from the time before DSOTM.

The 64-page booklet includes a Sterling Morrison interview with Greg Barrios, a review of VU & Nico album by Timothy Jacobs from Vibrations No. 2, July, 1967, Chicago Happenings by Larry McCombes from Zig Zag, Vol. 5, No. 1, April/May, 1974, New York Art And The Velvet Underground by Jonathan Richman from Vibrations, September 1967, A Quiet Night at the Balloon Farm by Richard Goldstein, Problems in Urban Living by Richard Somma, and another interview with Sterling, Reflections In A Lone Star Beer. Hey! We have VU fans here! tell me fellas...

I have the (I think) original (undated) CD release of Nico, and I'm wondering if the remaster (1996 or new 2-disc version) actually sound better, or if they are just compressed like most "remastered version"s. The VU stuff all sounds pretty awful (which is I suppose part of the charm) so I am willing to shell out for the best version possible.

Oh, and in sticking with this thread's theme, I am now ALSO listening to Sister Ray.

The VU's records always sound awfull and that's nothing abnormal. The so-called remastered records only sound slighty less awfull than the original editions and are to my opinion only business stuffs with new packaging & booklet.
I have ripped some VU CD's and it was not really a surprise that the bitrate was sometimes very low, as low as 96kbps, though using MPC Standard Preset. But the sounds remains quite the same, i.e. slightly crap , which is the only important thing for sure. tongue.gif

Just found my Faith No More "Angel Dust" CD that I thought was stolen when my car was broken into and a bunch of CDs taken (still haven't replaced all of them). For some reason, it was in a sleeve and tucked into a box. Since I knew that CD wallet was full, that means I need to figure out was else was taken.
