I'm absolutely sick of LeAnn Rimes, she's just like any other commercial pop "artist" as far as I'm concerned, and just
too mainstream. Actually, given the amount of airplay her recent singles receive here, one *has* to get sick of her.

(Heck, I don't even think her voice is at all good...)

You dare to rip LeAnn
Just kidding! I agree that she is over-commercialized, but where I live I don't hear much of her stuff played on the radio at all.
Life Goes On got some airplay for a while, but not so much recently, then
Suddenly was singled and got a little airplay. Then again, I don't listen to pop stations much on the radio...it's either 99X out of Atlanta, or streams 18, 20, 21 or 22 on Sirius. I can understand why many might be sick of her. But as for me, I didn't start listening to her at all until late last year, after her commercial presence had somewhat died down (from my perspective), so I wasn't burned out on her like many people were. And her voice is the strongest I've ever heard, IMHO. Trisha's (original) version of
How Do I Live was weak in comparison to LeAnn's. But that's just my own opinion.
I'd still recommend Michelle Branch, but be warned that she's heading for strong commercialization too. Something about getting one of your songs on the soundtrack of a romantic movie seems like the beginning of the end...

Too bad there was much more than "mastering" that went into the transfer to CD of those albums. Having listened to them many times while growing up, I couldn't stand the CD versions and had to make my own from original London vinyl pressings. Those albums do ROCK though.

Great taste, dude.

Hell Freezes Over is one of my favourite CDs - it's a pity some of the original performances were left out... and I only have the live show on a crappy recorded mono VHS tape. I'd love to hear the 5.1 mix at some point, having read several times that it was one of the first really good ones.
"The Last Resort" is also one of the best performances on the album. Listening to it now.
