Great album! I've listened to it so much lately that if I were playing the CD, I could see through it now. smile.gif

smile.gif I think my favorites are Flower, Johnny Sunshine and Canary, but there's no song I don't like on it. The album is one of the best I've heard in recent years.

Moon 83 ~ The B-52's ~ Whammy! (1983)

This is my favorite B-52's album, with Cosmic Thing a close second (Topaz is actually my favorite song of theirs), and Mesopotamia is in third place. I'm a fanatic...got their whole collection except for "Anthology: Nude On The Moon", which I think is unnecessary once you have everything else.

I only have Cosmic Thing, and I love it. It's the sort of care-free, easy-going, "tap-your-foot" music one needs from time to time.

Especially this one rocks:

B-52's - [Cosmic Thing #06] Roam [MPC, 239kbps, 4:55] [foobar2000 v0.7.1]

If you want to try any more of their stuff, I'd recommend getting Time Capsule. It's a great overview of all their music from 1979 to 1999 (18 tracks, including 4 from Cosmic Thing). They broke up in the early 90's, but got back together to compile Time Capsule and record two new songs for it as well.

/me is listening to "Black Rose Immortal" [20:14] by Opeth from "Morningrise" (1997) [MP3 @ 232 kbps / foobar2000 v0.7.1]

What an epic song. Can barely keep my mind away from the fact that they'll be touring here in December.

And of course, now it's "To Bid You Farewell" [10:54] by Opeth from "Morningrise" (1997) [MP3 @ 213 kbps / foobar2000 v0.7.1]

Their songs have touched me on a personal level like no other. Opeth are the masters of portraying beauty borne of grief, and do it too well.

I am listening to nina simone - [verve remixed #09] see-line woman (masters at work remix) [MPC, 202kbps, 10:05]

I like the album (Verve Remixed) very much, because it contains some very, very good remixes of songs from the famous jazz label Verve. There is also a album called Verve Unmixed, which contains the original songs. It's very interesting to hear both the original and the remix after another.

Well, while the first 3 Metallica album were indeed very good, there were MUCH better thrash albums out at the time. They have gotten steadily worse since Cliff died.

IMO, they are waaaaaay overrated.
