Pachelbel - Canon
(GREAT piece of music! ...from one of these various barock samplers)
Always loved that piece of music, even when I was a child. In fact when I got older, I had a MIDI version on my Atari ST which I would play over and over...
I know exactly what you're saying
I find it realy nice to have it playing in the background while I do my studies...
well, untill I stop working and just start to listen, usally for a few repaets...
the piece of music that holds me from working atm is good old baker street...

Currently listening to
Isaac Hayes - Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymystic (FLAC level 8)
from
Hot Buttered Soul because
uploading 20 odd seconds of it made me remember what a truly funky song it is.

I think there may be such a thing as an addictive melody that hiijacks our normal brain processing and internally self-perpetuates in our brains like a loop (gets "stuck in your head"), Arthur C. Clarke had an excellent story about this idea in his short story collection
Tales from the White Hart.
