Of course LP's sound much better ( besides of the cracking of course ).

Sound recorded on a vinyl keeps full freqency, its pure analog, just like the source of the sound.

The problem with digital sound is obvious - it's the necessity of Analog-To-Digital converting. You all know what major losses to the sound can be made by coverting from one compression format to another. The same here :

Vinyl = pure sound
Cd = analog sound converted to digital and then to analog again (our hearing is analog )

CD wasn't invented for quality, it's a total nonsense. It was invented for comfort, its smaller, it don't wear out so fast , and so on. But it's sound is much, much WORSE.

Unfortunatly, there is no possibility of ABXing Vinyl and Cd because of the cracking

SUre you can. Use a 44.1kHz PCM A-D-A convertor, feed the analogue into this, and ABX the A-D-A'ed stream with the 'original' stream. The digitized version will keep everything audible -- pops/clicks and all. :-)
