Full Version: Best software to join MP3 files?

I have a bunch of MP3 files form a non-stop mix. Although I have no problems playing them on my PC, thanks to foobar, I want to be able to play them on my portable MP3CD player. Foobar can output the gapless mp3s to an audioCD image, and I can reconvert back to mp3, but this will reduce the quality. Are there any software (preferably freeware) that can just join the mp3 files giving me 1 gapless mp3 file?

Thanks.

Try once 'mp3merge'

The programm is based on a simple concept like cut-and-copy-together. Of course it cuts off unused Mp3 file headers and id-tags but it doesn't check the mp3 files you want to join for empty/soundless frames - so You still may hear a little gap in the resulting non-stop mp3.

Good luck!

Thanks. I tried that program. It did a decent job, the gaps between the tracks are quite slight, but they're still there. I might just go the foobar way (to CD audio and back to mp3).

I know mp3directcut will also do this.

I tried it, and although it allows you to delete the gaps more precisely, having to do that for a 20 tracks long mp3 is a pain. sad.gif I wonder if there's a plug-in for foobar that can output to 1 gapless big mp3 file.
