I have been playing with PsytelDrop and was wondering what would be a good script line for audiobooks. Compatibility is very important. My aim is to keep bit rates low as unabridged audiobooks can go for over 15 hours. My goal has been to get an average bit rate of around 16 - 24 kbit/s. So far I have tested many scripts and compared the different artifacts.

An example. -vr -br 16 -qual 9 -pns -resample 11025 -c 5000 works o.k.

Any comments or suggestions regarding this script and how compatible will it be with future hard/software?

Thanks,
Tacitus10.

Your script is OK, IMO.

The only problem is that there's no PNS support in hardware players ATM. But FAAD decodes it fine.

Roberto.
