any mac users got any advice for me on creating flac files on the mac. i currently extract cd's using itunes then encode flacs using macflac. this is time consuming and creates no cue file. would like to use EAC but my virtual pc environment won't run it....
any advice appreciated..

Try creating a "TOC" or XMCD file and then convert this to cue.
There are some programs to help you at www.freshmeat.net or from a post I made about 2-3 months back on making cue sheets out of freedb entries.
I'd look them information up for you but I'm exhausted.
Hope this helps, tec

I'm curious why you're using FLAC instead of Apple Lossless....

I'd recommend you to use
xACT for extraction and conversion as it uses cdda2wav w/paranoia.
What problem do you have with running EAC under Virtual PC ? The crucial thing is to save extracted files within the PC environment, not to a shared folder on the Mac side or you get a useless file consisting of about 10% of the original in excerpts.

thanks for the advice. i will look into what yu have told me.
i use flac because i am sharing the files with people who prefer flac... (ie PC-users)
and the problem with my virtual windows is the program simply will not run. i double-click the icon and get a little hourglass for about a minute but nothing happens. am using windows 2000.
