Full Version: [Newbie]How to use lame 3.96.1 with EAC V0.95 pb5
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Lossy Audio Compression > MP3 > MP3 - General
Firestreak
Tried to use following lame switches:
--preset extreme (returns error, no files)
-h -V 0 (same error, no files)
--preset extreme %s (lame generates filenames like 0tmp!3!)(.wav.mp3 without id3tags. MP3 sound is okay.)
%l--alt-preset 128%l%h--alt-preset standard%h %s (same as above, this is EAC's default setting from r3mix forums)

Error message from 1st two:

The external compressor returned an error!

Options: [cl switches]

Filename: blablabla.wav

What the hell am i doing wrong?

I seem to remember from my previous win-install that "-h -V 0" without any additional tags (like %s, which i got from EAC's default code) would suffice

thanks! Poorly documented in EAC/LAME...

or you could just select "LAME mp3 Encoder" and use the original command lines...like --preset standard
