So right now to record songs onto a minidisc "using foobar" I use the Audio CD writer in conjunction with nero Image burner, mount hte image as a virtual CD and burn it to MD using simple burner.
I dont suppose there is anyway a component could be made to simplifiy parts of this process?
some ideas/questions:
1) is it necessary when making a cd Image to first prepare then "burn." Isnt the prepare step just changing it to a CD compatible audio format? Maybe a component seperate from the audio CD writer could be made that simply makes a CD image (ISO or NRG or anything), without the intermediate steps of preparing the audio?
2) even further, would it be possible to write a component that interfaces with Daemon tools in order to mount this image after creating it?
3) (probably more difficult) would it be possible to make a component that simply creates a virtual CD drive out of a playlist and feeds the audio data to this virtual drive on the fly? What I mean is eliminate the image files all together and have foobar create the virtual drive "on the fly" in a way that when something tries to read the virtual drive, foobar sends the requested data.
4) ultimately it would be great to have some interface from foobar directly to NetMD, but as far as i know there is no open way to do this (i.e. it would have to be reverse engineered or hacked or something).
As a side note, has anyone found an easier way to get songs from foobar to NetMD than the way i describes (create CD image, mount CD image, burn with simple burner)?
