Just came across one online and wondered if these were any good.

I can only commit on the CRX100E/X USB 1.0 drive which is circa 1998.
It was enough for my needs from November 1998 to Februrary 2002, however as fate would dicate its speed write speed/re-write speed became frustrating, and now I only bother using it when my three other drives can't rip scratched CDs without errors. The model I have has accurate stream, doesn't cache audio, which important for secure audio extraction.
It's built good from what I can tell, which contradicts the impression I've had over the last 15 years of Sony optical products which always seem to poop-out too early in their usage (PS2, PSone, CD Player, DVD Player, etc).
