Can someone help me. I've a Motown triple album of various artists that I've retagged as Motown - Track no. - Artist - Song etc. The problem is that they come into the foobar album list under the individual artists instead of the Album name. Ithought that foobar would have read the first tag as it normally does. This I can't leave as it has created 50 or more entries. What do I have to do? BTW they are flac files.

One way to handle compilations is to use a %album artist% tag and set it to "Various", or in your case, "Motown Various".

Then go into Preferences > Albumlist and replace all references to "%artist%" with "$if2(%album artist%,%artist%)" (without the quotes). The albumlist will use %album artist% if it exists, otherwise %artist%.

There may be smarter ways to do it, but that's what I've done. wink.gif
