It's about time for a new version, so here it is. I had to move the offset corrected writing to a later version, simply because currently I don't have the time/motivation to finish it. But, at least you can rename tracks now. wink.gif

What's new:
- new Burrrn homepage (http://www.burrrn.net/) and e-mail
- updated the .fpl support to the new foobar 0.8 format
- updated to support WavPack version 4 files
- added TTA support
- you can now edit track names
- added option to use SPTI
- added option to use the Raw Driver
- new icon
- updated executables in the package
- added Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional) language, updated Hungarian and Romanian language (thanks to Roger, DirektX and Sebastian Mares)
- some fixes

thank you Gambit smile.gif

just out of curiosity, does 'some fixes' include the cosmetic (= minor) bug where the progress bar and the time-left indication reached it's end too soon when burning at higher speed (with my Plextor 40W it's above 16x)?

I would have to say no, because I just used 1.12 to burn a single mp3/cue. Hardly anything to worry about.

Thanks for an update Gambit. This is one of my most used programs. One thing though...I had a previous feature request that wasn't implemented in this new version. I'm wondering if you can impliment this request for the next version then?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you, Gambit!
Eh, this is very minor, but it does say in the rightclick menu: "Play".
Well, it haven't, and it doesn't. Don't worry me much, but there's not much point in having that in there when it won't work. All that happens are that the burrrn.m3u gets opened in notepad, and default on my system is that a m3u file should be opened in foobar2000. Also when I add the burrrn.m3u to foobar2000 only the first track gets displayed. When I look at the file in a texteditor there's something strange with the lineending. Can't post a screenshot now, but have a look yourself. EditPlus shows an extra "empty space" Vim shows this: ^@
After editing the lineending in texteditor, the file behaves normally. Is this an CR/LF issue or something....?

But anyways, as I said, this is very minor.

Arghpffh#@$*@%... fixed, thanks for reporting.

I asked about adding write offset support. I recall you mentioning it would be in the next version. It seems it has not yet been implemented. This app seems pretty nice, but neither of my burners show up.
Tikke24x
I'm experiencing the same bug as Digga, the progressbar reaches 100% although only a fourth of the tracks was burned at that point. Using a Plextor PX-W4012A and burned at 40x-speed. As Digga said, bug is only cosmetic, the disc burned fine.

Thanks, that took care of the lineending issue. When I doubleclick burrrn.m3u now, it opens as it should. Strangely, the burrrn.m3u still opens in notepad when I hit Play in Burrrn... Maybe it's something with my system configuration. I do have "Open With Notepad" as one of the context menu options for m3u files, but default action are "Play in foobar2000"....
Hmmm.... Well, well. It's a program I use for burrrning, not playback. wink.gif

Thanks again!

Haha, pardon my blindness. I saw all the new features and somehow missed the preceeding paragraph. Can/Will Burrrn be to use .toc files generated by things like cdparanoia?

Now I have a problem. Niether of my cd drives show up. sad.gif

I searched the forums, but could not find anything: is there a way to add a context item for foobar > send to burrrn (something along those lines anyway)?
Dr. TaaDow
i'm still having trouble opening burrrn... i double click on the .exe and it doesn't open up

this has been the case for the past 3 or 4 releases of it

any suggestions?

Changes to play function work for me now.

I continue to believe that it would be useful to put a check box in the config page so that burrrn could add a 2 second gap between tracks, when burning some tracks that were ripped with the silence after the track deleted for some reason.

My cd drives don't show up. Any suggestions to fix that? They show up fine in EAC. In burn there is nothing.

In the settings you can chose aspi layers..
Btw i had a problem burning audio cds with both burrrn and foobar running on internal drive(lg48xburner+dvdreader16x-lg4420)which was connected over those usb2.0 cases-external)..

Cuz it's windows?
Tangerine
I found this very impressive program today.
I used CDrwin for writing audio CD-s from wav+cue with CD-TEXT.
I always suck with CDrwin when reinstall my Windows. So did I today. CDrwin says: no CDrom device was found
I decided to get rid of cdrwin for ever.
This program called Burrrn could be the best tiny program for writing audio CD. I only miss a little option that cdrwin has, and I wonder if you Gambit could add this to Burrrn. As I remember it is "open new session" in cdrwin, and means not to close the CD after burning, and I could put additional files (data) to the audio CD (i.e.: cd cover, lyrics, etc...)
So when I put these CDs into my CD-ROM then I saw only the files on it I added after audio. But when I started CD-player program the cd was played well, or desk player could play as well the cd. Data track does not disturbed the audio, since desk players only see the first session (which is the audio tracks session). These CD-s are like multimedia CDs, but the reverse order. Audio tracks come first, and after that 1 (or more) data track(s). Not appending to audio session but appended to each other after the audio session.
So I need this "not finalize CD" option added to burrrn, if it is possible.
Gambit
My über-natural powers allowed me to go back in time and implement a "Close CD" option for you. wink.gif happy.gif

Gambit,

I was wondering if it would be possible to implement sample rate conversion during the decoding process? This is a feature I'd find very handy.

So the problem seems to be accssing the harddisk on the controller(?).
But I can access the hard disks Data with other applications ( even other burning tools). What can be the reason? Thanks for any hints.

Try just using SPTI. You will have to edit the .ini

Hi Gambit - I am getting strange logs in the window when burning cda from mp3's.

The messages are that the length does not match the length in the wave header. Burning still seems to work OK though.

Just wondering why this is.

BTW I have mp3gained the files and retagged all too.

Hey Gambit..

I have been using the 1.13 beta for a while now and have not seen any bugs. this is on a P4 with w2k and intel application accelerator. No ASPI installed other than native SPTI.

Thanks

Both are planned, but as I said due to lack of time/motivation I don't know when it will be available. Well, let's be honest, it's really just a question of priorities and coding isn't in the top ranks for me these days...

I still get this error, even with newest version.

Hey Gambit;

Thought I'd give you a little feedback on your program.

I normally use Plextools Pro for all my burning needs, (Plextor PX-W4012A). Just recently, I burned an audio CD of some of my favorite mp3's, so that I could listen to them on a cheap boom-box in the garage, while I did some work on the car. Unfortunately, the boom-box wouldn't recognize the CD, even though my household player would. I had seen references to your software before, so I downloaded it and tried it.

It worked perfectly. The CD will not only play in any player now, but having the program do ReplayGain at the same time was a nice touch.

Great job . . . nice software. Thanks.

Btw - On a humourous sidenote - I, also, saw the "CD Close" check box, but since its underneath the "Eject" button, I just thought it was a function to "close" the Cd drawer. rolleyes.gif

Anyway, thanks.

Gambit, I'd be willing to donate some $$$ even if you would keep up on the development of Burrrn. It's seriously one of my most used and favorite programs. I'd be willing to be there are other members who'd be willing to send you a few bucks to support the cause. If not they're all cheap bastards rolleyes.gif
Gambit
I was already thinking about adding a donate option, but PayPal is not available in my country. And quite honestly, I don't have any illusions about the amount of people who would donate. If people like Burrrn, they can send a postcard. Some users have done so and those people have a special place in my heart smile.gif. But the percentage of those who did compared to those who didn't is very very small...

Anyway, the development of Burrrn didn't stop, it just slowed down. Plus, there are some other projects I wanna work on first. If I should ever stop developing Burrrn, I will at least release the sources.
The problem really is just that I somewhat lost my motivation and prefer to spend my free time doing something different than coding. You know, when you come home from work, after 12 hours behind the comp, you don't really have the motivation to work on your coding projects (and the fact that you do it for free doesn't really help wink.gif).

Personally, I don't think it would hurt anything to make version 1.13b available at www.burrrn.net so that it could enjoy wider use beyond the HA community, and show the rest of the world that the project is not dead. At least in my experience, 1.13b is ready to release.
