Thats how it is until they discover abx. Its not only them. Of course the disturbing part of it that they transcode from one coder to another to improve quality.

For me knowing that modern perceptual coders are more or less transparent above 160k is a huge relief.

You know how the saying goes; you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. If a person thinks transcoding MPC files to MP3, or from low bitrate to high bitrate, makes them sound better then more power to them. We know the truth and that's all that matters. Besides, you have to be able to actually hear a difference for ABX'ing to be useful, and in this guys case he probably couldn't hear the difference between an ATRAC file at 32k and the original WAV, lol.

Most of them wouldn't ever touch ABX because they don't want to be proven wrong. Haha, both "audiophiles" and people with crappy hearing are just alike.

Actually the last Blade mp3 I downloaded was yesterday and it had some godawful ringing. It would've gone straight to the recycle bin but I need to keep it for testing puposes.

Music is a very diverse entity. You may hate 80s rock/metal, but there are people who love them. All I am saying is that it is not appropriate to dismiss one genre of music just because some people cannot appreciate it while others do. Tolerance is the keyword.
