Please help...
I am a figure skating coach in desperate need of a way to convert AAC/MPEG-4 music files to either WAV, WMA or MP3 format. I know that sounds backwards, but the music cutting software we use to create skating routine music will only support those three formats. I've tried for a very long time to find some way to convert these AAC files, but am coming up with nothing. The music I need to cut is "out of print" and ONLY available in the AAC format these days. World Championships are in two months and I need this right away!
I'm hoping someone here will have an idea for me -- I have a basic knowledge of how this stuff works, but I am obviously no expert...
Thanks!

Wouldn't either Foobar's or Winamp's Diskwriter plugins be able to write AAC to WAV? I don't have an AAC file on hand right now to prove it but I don't see why they wouldn't be able to.
I'm not really too familiar with Foobar yet but with Winamp you'd just set the Diskwriter preferences to PCM, 16 bit, 44.1kHz.

There is a small command line program called faad that will convert aac files to wav.
To use the program start a DOS command prompt and write:
faad my-file.aac
This will create a wave file name my-file.wav
You can download faad.exe from

FAADBTW Which diciplin and country do you represent? It could be fun watching the outcome. Good luck with the competion.

Thanks so much! I'm from the US, but this is roller figure skating, not ice. Check us out though, Fox sports TV in late November...we do everything ice does plus a heck of a lot more. Thanks again for the help!!
