Hi, Is there anyway I can encode a batch of mp3 files to AAC using quicktime but somehow the tags can also be transferred to the new file so that they are compatible with iTunes? Thanks

iTunes will do that. But transcoding lossy->lossy isn't a good idea.

If the MP3 tags are ID3 tags, then throw the MP3 files into iTunes, set the "Importing" preferences to AAC, select all your MP3's, right click, select "Convert to AAC".
