Hi,
A friend of mine has recently acquired a Marantz 1060 and must find speakers to match. Some basic information about the amp (Stereo Integrated Solid State, 30W per channel @ 8ohm) can be found here.
My friend is located in Australia, and the price range can probably be stretched as far as necessary (the perfect pair of speakers is out there!). Size is irrelevant, but keep in mind that shipping speakers from USA or Europe, etc., is extremely expensive, and while the budget can be stretched, there surely is a point where it will be broken.
If anyone has experience with these fantastic amplifiers, I would appreciate input as to what speakers you might recommend for use with this model.

First amp I ever owned! I had to save for months. Anyway I used it all through high school and college with a pair of small Advent louspeakers, which I don't think you'll find nowadays (especially not in Oz). Advents were far from efficient, so I'd think any good modern bookshelf speaker should be fine. It's got enough power for almost anything at normal home (not concert) levels.
