Guys, I'm really thinking that if foobar wants to be open source and be used by the masses, that source should be released so as people who use *nix (that is Linux,Unix,BSD,Solaris etc.) can make a version for it. Now i know originally there wasn't even a planed release for windows 9x, but i think it would be a good addition and create a lot more users for Foobar. Also there are a lot of users like myself, that are using *nix as a replacement for windows, or as a second operating system and it would be great to see a version of foobar released for *nix, so i don't have to put up with running it through wine and having to use columns UI. Now then i am just wondering what other peoples opinions on this

I also know that opening up the source would allow for a lot of hacking of foobar, and a lot of people adding features directly to it, but it also would allow for many other users of different operating systems to port Foobar 2000 and would make Foobar truly open source, and who really doesn't want this ?
Garf
Chance that foobar ever becomes open source = 0

Chance that there is ever a Linux port > 0
