i bought a SONY MD MZ-NE410
and i have a problem.
This MD (as all from Sony, i guess) use SonicStage software to convert a mp3/wma file to Atrac which is read by MD.

and i have a problem becauase i don't know how to convert mpc (and other ogg, aac) to atrac. (is it possible ?)

unfortunetlly the most of my music library is in mpc (about 90%)
so it is really important, otherwise i will have to convert mpc to mp3 and then to atrac, but it is not a good idea for quality and time which this take.

so if anybody know how to convert/burn MD from mpc file
plesse help.

Rather than converting your mpc files to mp3 before importing them in atrac3, decode them to PCM (.wav): SonicStage supports this format, and encoding in also faster (no need to decode mp3).

Just curious, since you're concerned enough about sound quality to rip to MPC, why did you buy a portable player that you knew would require transcoding to the notoriously inferior ATRAC format?

Or you could get mpc etc plugins for Nero and create a cd image with cd-text (for auto-tagging) and mount that image using daemon tools.

To get music tracks from my PC (mp3s) to my MD player (Sharp) I have to play them in real time - is there another way to do it, like transferring the file from the PC to MD Player ??? ohmy.gif

i have some important reason:
- it's cheap !!! (the most imporatant reason)
- it's small
- discs are cheap (and i can change them)
- (thx. guruboolez) i can decompress to wav and than save as atrac. I think that quality is also not as bad and is really enough for a portable player!
- [the last one] this is only a 'portable player' and it doesn't need an excellent sound quality like cd-audio.

which portable type of player you prefer
and which has a better quality ? (than my ?)

The above link points to another utility that allows direct mpc, vorbis, insert-your-favourite-codec-here to MD, via an automated version of Dino's Nero method.

I personally think the conversion to Wav method is easier though, and is my method of choice to go from Wavpack to MD.

Hope you are enjoying your MD.
