i've encoded Keane's Hopes and Fears album in both LAME 3.90.3 extreme and 224 kbps AAC and was trying to do an ABX test (usage?). i downloaded Java ABC/HR written by schnofler and am having a hard time getting it to work. i found this thread but it doesn't explain how to set it up. i'm just having trouble with the CLI decoder part. i found FAAD 2 for AAC at rarewares but can't find a LAME 3.90.3 CLI decoder for mac os x (i'm not all that experienced w/using the terminal). i saw a LAME 3.96.1 decoder at rarewares too, but that won't work if i encoded with LAME 3.90.3, right?

also, when i put in the "settings" i know in the extension i just need to use mp3 and m4a, but could somebody help me with what to put in for the command? the following is what i had:

for mp3 (w/extension mp3):
CODE
/Users/sbatth/Music/abchr-java/lame -h %i %o

for aac (w/extension m4a):
CODE
/Users/sbatth/Music/abchr-java/faad_OSX -w %i > %o

also, would i need to pass any special options if i was trying to do a 224 kbps AAC vs. a 192 kbps AAC? i'm sort of leaning more towards AAC anyway because it encodes at nearly 7x for 224 kbps while LAME-iTunes encodes at about 1.5x for extreme (but if LAME sounds better, I'll have no problem being more patient).

if you haven't already guessed i'm only using the ABX test of schnofler's Java ABC/HR app.

thanks in advance for the help.
