hi everyone,

i use an external harddrive to store some music. in order to get my playcounter etc. up-to-date even when playing on other machines, i copied my foobar folder to that drive.

now my problem is, when i connect on a different pc, then sometimes the driveletter is different and all database entries have to be re-read.

so is there a way to store the relative paths of files in the database? because these paths don't change.

thanks

I'm not sure this is the best answer, but at least it's an answer that willwork!

Once you have your external drive plugged into the *new* computer, do the following:

Click on the Start button

Right-Click on My Computer

Click on Manage

Click on Disk Management

Click on your external drive letter

Then Right-Click on the above selection, choose Change Drive Letter and Paths

Now all you do is to set the drive letter to the same one that your home computer uses, and you'll be set to do some listening!

Until someone smarter than I am answers your question, this will work for ya. wink.gif

I have decided to quote the above posts in case someone has already forgotten what he just read.
