Anyone know what the difference is between the E2c's and the E2's? Also, would you recommend either of these? Is it really worth it to buy these over the Sony EX71's, for instance?

Thanks!

Only the packaging is different. The 'phones are identical.

I loved mine. I even compared them with the E3s and chose to keep my E2s. I have never used the Sony 'phones.

Almost all reviews on http://www.head-fi.org/ prefer the Shure E2s to the Sonys. I'm very happy with my E2c's
analogy
I use E5s for in-ear monitoring of music (I play drums and bass) as well as audio monitoring from cameras (professional cameraman) when I'm in shooting conditions where I'd rather not use full headphones.

E2 is the original stage monitoring headphone, while the E2C is the identical headphone re-marketed for recreational use.
