Full Version: Connecting HD580's Directly to a Soundcard

Hello all.

I've just built a new computer, mainly for audio listening, I've installed a Terratec 7.1 Space soundcard in it (couldn't find the Chaintech's and M-audio's here in Europe).

I don't intend to use any kind of speakers, I need to conect the headphones (Sennheiser hd580) directly to the soundcard, The case is a Thermaltake Tsunami Dream which has a front panel with audio connections, however these connections only apply when using onboard audio, otherwise they are useless and since I spent money on a nice soundcard I surely won't be using onboard audio.

I know I can connect the headphones directly to the soundcard headphone jack but given my computer's position on my desk it'd a major pain. So I'd like to know if there's a way to use some kind of extra front panel (or any other solution not envolving too many cables ) that would allow me to connect the HD580's to the soundcard without having to use the rear jacks.

Thanks for your help.

a quick n dirty solution would be to buy a short extension cable at run it from the back and put it in top of your tower

that is how i do with my usb, as my tower doesn't not have front usb
