I have got a second hands Fujitsu Siemens Scenic D 815e computer for my birthday.
Where I want to make an audio server from.
The problem is that it only has low profile PCI slots.
So far I have only found one low profile card from audiotrack:
MAYA 5.1 MKIIAny suggestion for a low profile PCI soundcard?
I built some low-profile PCI-slot using systems and one of them required a modem, for which nothing was available (at the time). I used the low-tech solution and bought a modem that would fir the low-profile slot but that didn't come with a low profile input plane. I used one of the low-profile slot covers from the case, and with a hacksaw and a metal file (a dremel would proabably work wonders as well) I cut out the telephone out and line inputs, removed the original metal part from the modem and then used some epoxy resin to bond it back to the now-officially low-profile part. It has worked perfectly.
In other words, if you could find a half-height pci card then you can probably make your own low-profile sound card.
