Hi,

I'm going to buy a soundcard soon for music on my PC. I will be using an Audigy 2 for games so game support in my "music" card is not an issue. Neither are things such as surround sound as i will only be using 2 speakers.

I am interested in the Chaintech AV-710 as I hear it is comparable to the Maudio Revolution.

I have only heard of people connecting the Chaintech AV-710 using the digital out, this however is not an option to me as my amp has no digital input so I will be forced to use the analogue outputs.

My main question therefore is what is the quality of the analogue outs on this card? If they are unsuitable what card should I be looking at?

Additionally I mainly listen to Metal, Rock and punk (dont let that fool you, i still enjoy high fidelity sound wink.gif ) so is this card suitable for such music.

Regards
breez
The card has a mediocre 6-channel VIA AC97 DAC and one good quality 24/96 Wolfson stereo DAC. The stereo output has been compared to M-Audio revo cards and also RMAA benches have shown good performance (can't remember url, try search @ head-fi.org for the benchmarks).
