anyone ever thought of creating a plug in that specifies scene release groups from mp3s in the database? or sort by release group? i am a foobar noobie so i couldn't write one

You could just use the masstagger to add a 'release group' tag to a file. Then you could sort/format/etc based on that.

i made a plugin which in part would indentify group releases, fill in group tag, group name (like sb -> sweetbeats), identify group comments (so you could enable or disable to show comments that are nothing more than group tags) etc.

however it's not public, as it uses foo_lua which is not being developed anymore :/
