Need some suggestions here wink.gif

I copied over some mp3 files from a friend. They were mostly not tagged or not decently named. He has since properly tagged them and has also renamed them.

Now i dont want to copy those mp3 files over again. I just want to sync the id3 tags over. Some utility that will run over there and generate a text file of the tags, which he can then send over to me. I can then use that utility to import the file and apply onto the copied files on my hard drive. Since he has renamed the files, the utility should check by file size/hash/etc. to see which file to apply the relevant tags to. I am sure this is possible but can't find any utility using regular searches.

If i am not clear, please ask questions.
Thanks smile.gif

This is MP3-Library, freeware.
I think it'll do what you want.

No, It only syncs files with creative nomad and that too i think is based on tags/filename not filesize/hashes/crc etc.
Thanks for trying though wink.gif

You can use foobar2000 to copy tags. I've never actually used that function, but I do know it exists.

No, thats also not for my scenario. Guess i will end up using Rsync. I was hoping for a better solution.
