I have a load of mp3s that i want to backup but since my mp3 disc player inserts pauses between tracks, i might have to resort to converting them to wav. Do you guys try to save space and just burn the mp3s as is or do you convert them..?
- if you want to backup your music on cds, why is it important what your player does with it? do you want the cds for playback of for backup reasons?
as a side note, mp3 is not gapless, so no chance for gapless playback via a cd-hardware-player.
- if you just want to back up your collection, dont convert to wav, as you probably have to encode them again if you put them back to your harddrive at a later point, right? this would degrade the quality.
- if you need these 'backupcds' for listening on your player and care for gapless playback, either convert to wave or transcode to a gapless format (note: quality reduction, if you can hear it is another thing).
