EDIT: I've cut the samples to the first 10 sec and compressed them to APE. It seems the there is a size restriction for attachments on HA. I was only using the first 7 secs for ABX anyway.
There's been some discussion over at head-fi on the audibility of reverse phase in music samples. I'm attaching the pair of samples that chillysalsa made available.
I've managed to distinguish them, but only after a sound card upgrade. The equipment I used was: E-MU 1212m -> Hosa YPP-136 2TS-TRS cable -> Audiotechnica ATH-A900 headphones. Software: E-MU drivers & patchmix DSP 1.60, foobar2000 0.83, ASIO plugin 0.42 dll (SSE2). patchmix running a 192Khz session & foobar set to SSRC resample, w/o noiseshaping.
I'm curious if other people can detect the difference.
Btw, should I post to the listening test forum (as well)?
