This has been requested earlier, but I'm just wondering how likely you think it is, that this plugin, at some point in the future, will support multiple tollbars/panels/vis in a single tab? Both from a technical point of view, and your motivation for implemeting it.

Yeah, I think I mentioned earlier that this feature wouldn't be dependent on foo_uie_tabs, so it would be a separate plugin if it got implemented (and probably not by me).

I'm interested to see what musicmusic has in mind for the new version of columns, because I'd imagine you'd need something like this to arrange a freeform UI anyway.

Just to clarify : I'm talking about the idea of a generic horizontal or vertical "splitter" extension that would effectively turn one ui extension "slot" into two.

Do you mean display all the tabs in a single row that scrolls across? Or add a horizontal scroll bar to a panel contained in foo_uie_tabs?

You can't do either, but I can add easily add the first feature. The second point isn't possible though.

Not sure if this has been requested, but my suggestion is to have a checkbox in preferences that says "show tabs" (or something similar), so that when it is unchecked, you just see the plain panel.

PS. now that I'm writing: can we expect trackinfo to run with multiple instances in the near future?

...is it possible to implement something kind of "bring to front" option? I have trackinfo and albumlist as tabs in the same panel, and I usually want trackinfo to be displayed, but sometimes when I'm using albumlist I forget to switch over. If the trackinfo tab could be brought to the front, say, when a new track starts or I press a hotkey, that would be great.

I could add some kind of autoswitch to foo_uie_trackinfo.
I'm having a break from coding for a while though.

Placing Panels Above the Playlist

To place panels above the playlist, check "List all toolbars" in the "Other" tab of the Columns UI preferences. When checked, right-clicking on the toolbar will give you the option of placing panels on the toolbar. If a panel appears "squashed," it is because it needs to have a minimum height set in its preferences. If the panel extension has no minimum height setting, you may place it in a panel stack (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=28869), and set a minimum height via the panel stack options.

How large number should i input the minimum heigth?

1 or greater?

whatever i input , i can't see any different in the toobar

250 works fine for me. If it's too large, just lower the value or viceversa.

I have installed this along with latest version of Foobar, UI_columns, album art and album list but the only options I get when I right click in side bar are: playlist switcher and visualisation



Any help would be appreciated.

@dpss: Doesn't look like you're using the latest version of ColumnsUI. Try downloading it again from the forum thread, and make sure you clear your browser cache first.

@karpath: perhaps you should ask the user who posted that. Just looking at it, though, it seems he/she made a dummy tab and renamed it "G-Force", then took the G-Force window and placed it over the dummy tab. Notice how the right and bottom edges don't quite line up.

PS: I'm not familiar with the G-Force component, so I don't even know that it is a window which you could move around. I'm just guessing here.

after looking picture again i think you're right

You can move the vizu. window somewhere and than you have to edit the preferences of g-force.
(Here:C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Birk\G-Force\Preferences (foobar2000).txt)
There you have to change "NoBo=0" to "NoBo=1"

Re: that screenshot above, how does one go about adding AlbumArt to a toolbar and have it proper-size, not toolbar height only. I can only get this if I add it to a tab-stack. Any way to get it like the picture?

Download the foo_uie_albumart.dll file again from the main thread. I don't think rexy incremented the version number, but he did release a new version with a minimum height setting.

One feature id like to see in this plugin, is the option to hide the tab bar, if thats possible.

There are no beta plugins aside from those who are developed by the foobar team. Wait for the final 0.9 and the release of the SDK and then im sure either the original author or someone else will port it to the new SDK :]

ColumnsUI can be updated because musicmusic has access to the source\beta SDK, like the foobar team itself (which is the source of all the other beta components).
