I haven't seen WigBam on here in awhile, but I am having a small problem with foo_cue_ex. If I have foo_ui_std and foo_cue_ex both loaded when I drag a .cue sheet with REM DATE or REM GENRE (or REM anything) statements then those entries don't get read. If I remove foo_ui_std the problem goes away, so I assume the two are conflicting. I also assume that foo_cue_ex is foo_input_std with a bit of added code for REM statements.

Since I am using the columns ui exclusively, is there any other functionality in foo_ui_std that I am losing by removing it?

How does everyone else handle extra metadata in their cue sheets? I used to tag the flac files with that information but found I could not save any edits in fb2k that way .. they would get saved to the database but not to the flac file.

Perhaps I don't quite understand the use of foo_cue_ex but you can tag the image file with information concerning all titles represented in the cue file (like date, genre, etc.). So you don't need to put that information in the cue file. Or do I miss sth.?
If you embed the (non extended) cuefile in the image file (works fine with flac, ape and wavpack afaik) it should be even easier because you don't have to think about different ways of adding tags. The input component takes care of this for you. (I hope I don't spread wrong information)

No, you are correct. In your first scenario, where all the extra metadata is tagged to the image (flac) file, I am unable to save any changes though. In other words, upon initial tagging and bringing into fb2k the metadata shows up properly. When I edit the genre, for instance, the changes get saved to the database but not to the flac file, so if I reload info from file the genre reverts back to the original. Are you able to save changes?

That sounds strange because tagging the flac image file shouldn't be different from tagging any other flac file. You tagged only the image file and didn't load the cue file? If so and tagging isn't blocked through database preferences, I really don't know where the problem could be. I can't test this at the moment because I'm not at my own computer. But I don't see any reason for this not working.

Sorry, no .. I tag the flac file with only the extended metadata (date, genre). Then I load the cue sheet into foobar, which then shows all the metadata (album, artist, date, genre, etc..). Then, if I modify the date or genre (any item tagged in flac file) the changes are not saved to the flac. Which, I guess makes sense when I am loading the cue sheet instead, but it must know about the tags in the flac file if I get the info upon initial load? Thanks!

Hmm .. well, annoyingly so .. it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. I initially thought it was a problem with a newer version of foo_ui_columns. But since removing foo_ui_std solved it I figured it wasn't foo_ui_columns. Now, with columns 0.1.2 beta 1 it doesn't seem to be a problem. Excellent!

I am curious though, is everyone else embedding their cue sheets into the flac file?
