Hello everyone. I have a question regarding decoding mp3's to wav files. Is there a difference in quality when i burn an audio cd from mp3s OR is it better to decode them to wavs and then burn them? I use EAC in secure mode with alt preset standard (APS) in a VBR mode w/ Lame 3.90.3(supposed to be the one most tested and recomended at the moment) to encode mp3's. The quality is excellent, and I cannot tell the difference between the original cd file and the vbr mp3 file. So these are not horribly sounding encoded mp3's , but decoding them to wav's...would that degrade the sound quality? Any advice/info is greatly appreciated.

no.
just be carefull to NOT encode this cd again if possible, because then we would be talking about transcoding which leads to worse quality.

the only thing I might add is that you may want to mp3gain the mp3's prior to decoding because sometimes additional clipping can be added by the mp3 encoder. read teh mp3gain site or replaygain.hydrogenaudio.org for more info on this.
