I hear --alt-preset cbr 192 is the best quality lame can get in a 192kbit mp3 file, but it's joint stereo and I prefer stereo. What's the best command for a CBR 192kbit stereo file?

the best command line for LAME, stereo 192kbps will be --alt-preset CBR 192, on the other hand the best command line for mono in 192kbps CBR will be something like --alt-preset CBR 192 -mm (if i recall correctly)

Why would you want to use full stereo? LAME is the first Mp3 encoder to use a type of joint-stereo that will never damage the stereo image. I've tried using the --alt-presets with full stereo, and the quality is much worse then if J-stereo was used (Higher bitrate too). Try encoding using --alt-preset CBR 192 and hear the difference for yourself.
