Hi all!

Somtetime ago I compressed lot's of my CD's into VBR mp3 with Nero's FhG compressor at VBR, High quality. It sounds pretty ok for me, but in every player that I've tried, song length is a whole mess. It start with 15-20 minutes per song and falls to 2 minutes and rises to 40... It's like with each mp3 packet it recalcules de song lengths... Is there any way to fix this? I don't want to recompile my music collection again...

BTW, I'm using foobar rightnow.
Garf
foobar has a "fix mp3 header" option which should resolve this
Jojo

I have a same problem too using foobar0.8.3specialinstaller.
It shows lenghts for a regular cds like 25 min/song.
While option fix mp3header is useful, you have to do it song by song????
Why i shouldnt be able to select all songs and do it at once??
Originally cd was encoded by somebody who used xing vbr@250k
Also for example mr.questionman0.6 reports that files are 32k??

I've got exactly the same problem on my iAUDIO M3. I use LAME 3.90.3 --alt-preset standard encoded MP3's.

It can't seem to display the correct track lengths and generally keeps "increasing in length throughout the track.

I've got 3min tracks that are eventually displayed as 7mins+, and then the player seems to compensate by moving the bar about 3-4 seconds per 1 "real" second (if you know what I mean)

This is the tool i always used and it always worked like a charme: VBRfix

But is it something wrong with LAME/the command line parameter that could be causing the problem? BTW, that link seems to be dead
