After reading all the wonderful informative posts here about archiving I'm going to start archiving my huge cd collection. I'm going to do it via EAC and Flac and was wondering if I should use the newer pre-beta 5 version or go with the older beta 4?

I'm a first time EAC and Flac user and would appreciate any tips/suggestions to avoid making any mistakes. Thanks.

Use latest. Pre-beta 5.

You can google for the latest EAC (eac095pb3.zip) with "detect TOC manually" feature... wink.gif

Pre beta 5 is the latest, not 3. Just go to http://www.exactaudiocopy.org and download the newest one.

The position of the brackets is wrong. You should've written "You can google for the latest EAC with "detect TOC manually" feature (eac095pb3.zip)..." rolleyes.gif

Sorry for that. But when you read it from the beginning to the end you should realize how it was ment to be... Sorry for my English! wink.gif

@k.eight.a: Again I understood already your first sentence... smile.gif Guys, don't be too fast!
What about "last but one version, which still has..." ?
Personally, I prefer eac09b4 because of the installer and the extra "C2 for error correction" feature. eac095pb5 is only important for accuraterip.
