That's odd. Does anyone know when Plextor started offering Plextools for sale? As stated on their site, it only works with Plextor hardware, and as all new Plextor drives have been shipping with Plextools (AFAIK) for quite a while now, I wonder who their target market is? Are there that many people with old Plextor drives with a newfound interest in DAE? If I'm not mistaken, Plextools (not pro version) has always come with Plextor drives purchased in Europe, and the update to pro was freely available to these users. That leaves an even smaller market share. I wonder what they are thinking.

For non european Plextor owners that aren't interested in illegal things like registry hacks?

I have a new Plextor drive but haven't seen any tiny Plextool. From my knowledge Plextools only comes with Plexwriters.

Bought a PX-712A in June from BestBuy.com. It shipped with PlexTools Professional. So it's not jsut European drives that come with it, nor is it just the Plexwriters.

It used to be that only Plextor drives sold in Europe came with Plextools. AFAIK, Plextor started shipping drives to the US market earlier this year including Plextools. So, maybe the target market is US Plextor customers who bought their drive before this time?

I got Plextools with my PX-W2410A that I bought here in Finland a couple years ago. It's just too bad it won't work with my new LG DVD burner...
